Memories in Double Exposure: Digital and Emulsion Montage

This collection of photos utilizes the idea of montage whether that be in the form of analog double exposure or digitally manipulating a "film strip" by placing two photos next to each other.

The double exposures or side by side "strips" overlap settings and emotions in dialogue or contrast (one cold climate/one tropical climate, a snowcapped mountain range on the horizon above a rainforest, a Colombian cow in the middle of a Colorado road, a bathing suit clad woman/a gas station, etc.) effectively displaying a visual representation of memory itself. The places where the frames overlap suggest a representation of our failure to properly access our own memories. This doesn't occur in the digital "strips" that embody my alternative definition of “double exposure” in that they are two images side by side rather than the overlay of two photographic events within a film camera; some memories are more "firm" than others. Does the medium of film leave more room for doubt, or does the digital, which is more easily manipulated but less obviously so at times?
