made you look

This series plays with advertisements on a populated city block and the surrounding people including myself, the photographer. In capitalistic society do we look at advertisements or do they look at us ? Are we here to be seduced? Do we walk right by images unbeknownst to the power they hold over us as an integral player in the culture industry which satisfies the desires it creates? When those desires are satisfied, when we are literally reflected in them—as the photographer is thanks in part to the passing bus which serves as both a reflective surface and a window—are we happy?
